We love our home state! But what’s up with the higher than national average for rates of autism? We’re about 1 in 58, compared to the nation’s average of 1 in 68. We don’t mind leading the nation in Jell-O consumption, but we weren’t intending to lead everyone in the autism realm. Yet it is what it is.
That said, Utah should offer the very best care for autism, the best educational solutions, the best research options, the best community resources and autism-support events. In some ways, we do really well. In other areas, we fall incredibly short. You’ll have to be the judge as to what those pros and cons are.
Our job here at GoBeyondAutism.com is to provide you with lists of resources to consider. That we will do. We’ll scour the internet, attend support groups, and become increasingly educated. We need your help too. Please, tell us about the best resources in our state that have helped you and your family to manage or even succeed with autism.
We invite you to follow us on Facebook or, better yet, sign up for our free newsletter. It’s the best way to stay looped in on our most recent discoveries here in the state and elsewhere. We hope you’ll join us.
